Recycling
In recent years, the plastics sector has made significant efforts to achieve greater sustainability, to seek solutions to minimize the environmental impact of plastics - mainly through recycling. While raw materials are a crucial enabler to the green transition of the economy, sustainable supply of feedstock is key to recycling to supplying regenerated raw materials back into the value chain.

The GWC agricultural plastic recycling plants in Alhama de Murcia and Abarán, Spain, are situated in a region that produces a vast volume of agricultural plastics. This guarantees consistent quality feedstock supply for regenerated polyethylene and polypropylene.
Raw material recycling
Leveraging our own collection system for agricultural plastic, the GWC plastic recycling plant can recycle up to 110,000 tons/year of agricultural plastic.
This feedstock, among which 60,000 tons/year fine plastics – padded greenhouse films and mulch tunnels – is converted to 22,000 tons/year of regenerated low-density polyethylene (LDPE) pellets.
Recover & Reuse
Agricultural plastic waste e.g., irrigation tapes, comes with soil contamination of about 40% of its weight.

At GWC the soil is washed out in a completely contained water recycling system. This way we can not only reuse the water but also recover the soil and reenter it into the agricultural industry.
